FAQ
We use a mesh network, typically built with Zigbee or BLE mesh protocols. Each device strengthens the network by passing signals to the next, ensuring reliable coverage across big rooms, multiple floors, and long distances—without overloading your Wi-Fi.
For some extensive long range, LoRa (Long Range) technology is the solution, enabling battery-operated sensors to send small amounts of data over long distances with very low power, offering years of battery life.
Our system runs daily system health checks through Home Assistant. If a sensor’s battery drops below a safe threshold, the system automatically notifies you—and can even add replacement batteries to your smart shopping list so you never forget.
Battery life varies depending on how often the device is used and the communication protocol you choose. We choose zigbee and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) as our main device protocol for most sensors due to it’s ennergy effeciency. For example, a zigbee door sensor that’s opened frequently will use more power.
In general, most smart home sensors last 2–3 years before needing a replacement.
